A unique digital c@mpus in Europe
The Brittany digital c@mpus deploys a collaborative communications infrastructure, including 54 facilities of varying sizes : collaborative work spaces, seminar rooms, e-learning rooms and e-lecture halls. Along with these facilities are innovative services such as an online “concierge service”, automatic recording facilities or websites for collaborative work.
In line with the Brittany digital c@mpus, a Collaborative Communication infrastructure is progressively being rolled out in the Loire region to provide what will become a real “backbone” for Université Bretagne Loire, helping to support the vital development of teaching practices and the emergence of an educational offer that will be increasingly “multi-site”.
Immersive e-presence is a way to meet these needs, one that is simple to use, making it open to all. It also opens the way to new, remote teaching and research practices that are more effective and open, and less costly in terms of finance and ecology.
Making usage easier through technological change
The Université Bretagne Loire digital c@mpus aims to provide innovative and original services to the scientific and educational community, and which are accessible via a coherent and unified information system. The goal is to adapt to the participants’ practices and needs : nomadic work practices, multi-site work teams, networking… and in particular to provide students with customised education.
4 new constructions dedicated to digital technology
Two regional digital centres have been built in Brest (Bouguen campus and Iroise technology hub) and two in Rennes (Beaulieu and Villejean campuses). These buildings have been designed with an innovative architectural aim and are certified as having high environmental quality. They will house a core of high-technology facilities and services.
The Brittany digital C@mpus partners
Internationally, the digital c@mpus is a already source of inspiration.
Two cooperation agreements have been signed in particular with universities in Lebanon and Ivory Coast.
